Ecologist

Sam graduated from the University of Reading in 2019 with a MSc in Species Identification and Survey Skill which focused primarily on ecological consultancy. As part of this degree, she completed a six-month placement working within an ecological consultancy in Hampshire. Following which she further increased her experience by securing a role with an ecological consultancy based in Oxfordshire, before then joining ECOSA in 2022. During the gap between her undergraduate and postgraduate degree she volunteered on a turtle monitoring project in Costa Rica and at an animal rescue facility in Thailand.

Through her roles to date Sam has gained a significant amount of field experience. She is responsible for managing small scale projects and assisting more senior colleagues with complex schemes. Sam holds  Level 1 great crested newt, hazel dormouse and bat licences.

Outside of work Sam enjoys spending time doing martial arts. Having taken part in Muay Thai inter-club competitions and won medals for national events in Jiu Jitsu.
