Ryan Brazendale

BSc Environmental Science

Assistant Ecologist

Ryan graduated from the University of Southampton in 2019 with a degree in Environmental Science, having chosen to study a specialised course pathway in biodiversity and conservation.

He took his first steps toward the ecological sector when he began surveying for the Bat Conservation Trust as part of their volunteer scheme, spending most of his evenings searching for bats in the parks and woodland around Hampshire and the New Forest. This fascination with bats led Ryan to join ECOSA in 2022 as a Seasonal Bat Surveyor, returning in 2023 as part of ECOSA's Work Placement scheme. Ryan joined ECOSA permanently at the end of the Work Placement, becoming an Assistant Ecologist.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys playing the guitar and drums, outdoor walks, and fossil hunting trips to Dorset and Devon
