The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) have now published the second edition of ‘Guidelines on Ecological Impact Assessment: Terrestrial, Freshwater and Coastal (2016)’. This updated edition takes into account changes in legislation since 2006, which may have legal, policy, design and implementation implications for your development.
“An Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) report should clearly and simply describe the significant effects of any project so that all interested parties understand the implications of what is proposed.” (CIEEM, January 2016).
These updated guidelines are consistent with the British Standard on Biodiversity and reflect the current thinking on good practice in EcIA across the UK and Ireland.
ECOSA are committed to best practice. Our team of ecologists are suitably qualified and are members of CIEEM, each with extensive experience in ecological survey, impact assessment and mitigation.
We will collaborate with you through the planning process to meet your obligations in respect of ecology, and secure necessary consents and/or protected species licences that may be required.
To discuss the scope of your project or for further information, please call 02380 261065 or email info@ecosa.co.uk.
