Quality Assurance Policy and ISO Accreditation

 

ECOSA is registered and certified to ISO 9001, the internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses, through a certification body accredited by the sole national accreditation body recognised by government, The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

ECOSA adopt an internal review process whereby all reports and documents are subject to review by a Director and/or a Principal or Senior Ecologist to ensure technical accuracy prior to submission to the client. All ECOSA project managers have an excellent working knowledge and experience of planning system requirements in respect of biodiversity, and are affiliated to the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and the Society for the Environment. All survey work and reporting is carried out to recognised industry standards which adhere to current guidance issued by statutory regulators such as Natural England. Bat surveys and inspections are carried out in accordance with Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) guidelines.

ECOSA ecologists have a range of specialist skills and are experienced in all key ecological field survey techniques. Our ecologists hold a full range of Natural England protected species licences, including hazel dormouse, bats and great crested newt. Our staff undergo regular in-house and outsourced training to ensure that their professional skills remain up-to-date. All employees are committed to the Quality Assurance Policy and strive to work to the highest industry standards and guidance laid down by legislators.

The objectives of the Quality Assurance System in place at ECOSA is:

  • To work to regulatory and professional bodies' ecological survey and mitigation guidelines;
